What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy is a client centred healthcare profession and promotes health and wellbeing by performing purposeful activities or occupations.

Our daily occupations help define our identity and roles and if we are unable to do the things that are important to us and fulfil our roles, our health and wellbeing can suffer.  Occupational Therapists work holistically to analyse and understand the difficulties an individual experiences with their social or physical lives and work alongside them to explore more effective and efficient ways to increase self-awareness and complete daily activities.

Here at RootsOT we will work collaboratively with you to promote wellbeing and increase independence in ways that are meaningful to you.  As our pace of life has increased with our modern and urban living we are increasingly disconnected from the natural world; the way we live taxes our ability to think and depletes our attention.  At RootsOT we emphasise the use of the outdoors and the natural world to promote positive changes, wellbeing and recovery.
